Wood types for Q-sauna saunas and infrared cabins
Nordische Fichte
Solid, slow-growing, mature wood from Scandinavia with extremely low resin content. Highly regular and vivid texture with numerous ingrown knots. Excellent for sauna construction. (standard for sauna cabins)
Aspen
A lovely, light-coloured wood derived from the poplar tree. Fine structure, extremely low resin content and virtually free of knots. (optional for sauna cabins)
Red Ceder
A Canadian wood that is free of knots with mild radiant heat. Highly aromatic with a vivid texture and reddish brown grain. (optional for sauna cabins and infrared cabins)
Hemlock
This extremely solid wood comes from Canada and is derived from the giant Hemlock pine tree. Hemlock is free of resin and knots and is ideal for infrared cabins due to its excellent heat-reflecting property. (standard for the infrared cabins and optional for the sauna cabins)
Abachi
A soft white to cream-coloured hardwood from West Africa. Soft and cool to the touch, it is heat-resistant and does not splinter. It also remains cool to the touch at high temperatures and is free of knots and resin. Excellent for use in sauna benches, backrests and oven protective racks. (standard for benches in our saunas and infrared cabins)
